Local, Regional Artists Invited to Apply for Vending Space at City's Holiday Market

Bloomington, Ind.Parks and Recreation invites local and regional artists to submit an application for consideration for indoor and outdoor vending space at the annual Holiday Market, Nov. 29 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at 401 N. Morton St. in Bloomington, next to City Hall.

Artists may apply online to participate in the Holiday Market, or call 812-349-3725 to request an application. There is a non-refundable, $20 jury fee per application. To receive full consideration, applications must be received by Aug. 22 at 11:59 p.m.

Applications are divided into 10 categories: clay; drawing/painting/photography; fiber arts; metalwork/woodwork; glass; jewelry; natural materials; personal care; recycled arts; and surface decoration. Works are juried and artists selected based on the style and quality of work, price of work, and variety of artists.

All work for sale at Holiday Market must be original, and made by the applicant. Work must be safe, have a decent life expectancy, and exhibit quality of craftsmanship.

Visitors to the Holiday Market can shop for seasonal, locally grown farm products, artisan foods and beverages by local small businesses, and unique, locally made art and fine crafts.

For more information about Holiday Market, or to receive an artist application, contact Crystal Ritter at 812-349-3725 or ritterc@bloomington.in.gov.

FRAUD ALERT: Unauthorized individuals may attempt to sell event tickets or booth spaces for Holiday Market through online platforms or social media. These are scams. There is no cost for shoppers to visit the Holiday Market, and Holiday Market vendors are selected through a juried process. Booth spaces are non-transferrable. Do not send payment for booth spaces through any but Parks and Recreation's official website.
