The Council for Community Accessibility is a volunteer group that partners with the City to improve access to public spaces, share community input, and support programs that benefit residents with disabilities. The Council was founded in 1990 to advise the City of Bloomington on implementing the ADA, which became federal law that year.
The ADA is a civil rights law that ensures that people with disabilities have equal access to employment, education, public spaces, and services open to the public.
