Program Description
The Emergency Home Repair (E.H.R.) program is a grant to improve the safety and habitability of a home for qualified homeowners within the City of Bloomington jurisdiction.
A grant of up to $20,000 is available for an owner-occupied home and up to $7,500 for an owner-occupied mobile home. Funds are available to respond to needed repairs with the goal of restoring the health and safety of a home. For example, the EHR program has helped many households replace a leaking roof and interior water leak damages, install a new furnace or water heater, address electrical and plumbing issues, and repair structural damages.
General Program Requirements
- Applicant's home must be located within the Bloomington city limits.
- The home must be owner-occupied.
- Repairs must be within program funding guidelines.
- Applicant's income must be 60% or less of the Area Median Income (AMI), adjusted by household size (income limits are subject to change):
