Community Engagement & Access to Services
Identifying community needs, connecting residents with resources, and strengthening collaboration between the City and Bloomington's Spanish-speaking community.
Latino Programs serves as a bridge between Bloomington's Spanish-speaking community and local resources, programs, and public services. Staff assess community needs, identify barriers to accessing services, and coordinate referrals to healthcare, education, housing, family support, and other community resources. Through collaboration with City departments, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and community partners, Latino Programs works to improve access to information, strengthen civic engagement, and support the City's efforts to respond to the evolving needs of Spanish-speaking and immigrant residents. All calls, emails, and walk-in requests are handled with professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to connecting individuals with the most appropriate resources available in the community.
