Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the guardian of the pet. Meet Azrael ❤️Azrael is a big goofy cat with a LOT of personality. He is a cat that definitely has his own ideas about how things should be done, and he is happiest when he has other young cats around that want to play with him. His favorite thing in the world is playing, and apparently his second favorite thing is parkour. He will launch himself off pretty much any piece of furniture in the house. He is just a big goofball and can be incredibly entertaining. He does best with younger cats who like to play but aren't over aggressive players. He loves having a buddy to chase and wrestle with. He has been around dogs and does fine as long as the dog doesn't try to chase him. He'll generally just mind his own business. Azrael isn't really a cat who likes to be held or constantly petted. Every once in a while he'll decide he wants attention, and when he does, he'll let you know. 😂 He is very much a "I'll come to you when I'm ready" kind of cat. Because of that, I don't think he'd be a great fit for very young children who might want to pick him up or keep trying to pet him when he's had enough. He can also be nervous around strangers, especially people coming into the house. He needs a little time to get comfortable with new people and new situations. He does have some quirks. Actually, he has a lot of quirks. 😂 He has very specific litterbox preferences. He doesn't like clumping litter and has the unusual habit of standing up to poop. He does best with the Tidy Cats Breeze XL litterbox, and if he has to use regular clumping litter, it needs to be kept very clean or he is not impressed. He was found when he was extremely young and wasn't even able to eat solid food yet. Because of that, he never really developed much of a desire to groom himself. He occasionally needs a little help in that department and will need the occasional vet visit to have mats or his potty area shaved. He also likes to eat in peace. If another cat comes too close while he's eating, he will sometimes just stop eating and walk away. Even having a person too close can occasionally make him decide he'd rather wait. He does best with his own quiet space for meals. He has also been running outside, so I think a home with a secure outdoor space, catio, enclosed yard, etc. would be something he would absolutely love. The biggest reason I'm looking for a new home for him is that my situation changed after we moved and my daughter took her cats with her. Azrael really misses having younger cats to play with. He has a lot of energy and needs that interaction, and without it he has started taking some of his frustration out on my older cat. He isn't a bad cat at all. He is just a lot of cat. 😂 And unfortunately, my current home isn't the right fit for that anymore. He needs a very cat-friendly home with people who will appreciate his personality and all of his weird little Azrael-isms. Ideally, he'd have young cats to play with, plenty of room to run around and do his ridiculous parkour, and people who understand that he is not a cuddle-on-demand kind of cat. He's honestly a really fun, funny, lovable goofball.
